1. Great Pyramid of Giza (Egypt)

- The only surviving ancient wonder, it was built as a tomb for the Egyptian Pharaoh Khufu around 2560 BC and is the largest of the three pyramids in Giza.



2. Hanging Gardens of Babylon (Iraq, ancient Babylon)

- A terraced garden that supposedly existed in ancient Babylon, near present-day Iraq. Its exact location and even existence remain debated, but it was said to feature lush greenery and engineering marvels.



3. Statue of Zeus at Olympia (Greece)

- A massive statue of Zeus made by the sculptor Phidias around 435 BC, located in the Temple of Zeus. It was made from ivory and gold-plated bronze.



4. Temple of Artemis at Ephesus (Turkey)

- A grand temple dedicated to the goddess Artemis, completed around 550 BC in Ephesus. It was rebuilt several times before being destroyed by invaders in AD 262.



5. Mausoleum at Halicarnassus (Turkey)

- This grand tomb was built for Mausolus, a Persian satrap, and his wife around 350 BC. The word "mausoleum" comes from this structure.



6. Colossus of Rhodes (Greece)

- A giant statue of the sun god Helios, erected around 280 BC in the city of Rhodes. It stood over 30 meters high before being toppled by an earthquake.



7. Lighthouse of Alexandria (Egypt)

- Built on the island of Pharos around 280 BC, this lighthouse was one of the tallest man-made structures for centuries before being destroyed by earthquakes.
