When to visit

The recommended period to visit Uganda is during the dry seasons, which are from June to August and December to February. These periods offer the most favorable weather for wildlife safaris, trekking, and other outdoor activities.

- June to August: This is the peak dry season with lower humidity, less rain, and cooler temperatures, making it ideal for gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and exploring national parks like Queen Elizabeth and Murchison Falls.

- December to February: Another dry period with warm temperatures and less rain, which is good for wildlife viewing and outdoor adventures, as well as enjoying Uganda’s diverse landscapes.

The rainy seasons are:

- March to May: The long rainy season, characterized by heavy rainfall and higher humidity. Travel can be more challenging, and some roads might be less accessible, but the lush green landscapes are a highlight.

- September to November: The short rainy season, with intermittent heavy showers. It’s a good time for fewer tourists and lush scenery, though some travel disruptions and muddy conditions might occur. Each season offers different experiences, with dry periods being preferable for travel and wildlife viewing.
